Current Situation: CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a fire involving several palm trees and powerlines behind St. Margaret's Church in Palm Desert. Despite falling burning debris from the palm trees onto the roof of the church, firefighters quickly contained the fire at 12:15 a.m. and declared the fire controlled at 12:20 a.m.. No injuries reported. Cause is under investigation.
