Current Situation: Update and Correction, 12/30, 10:22 a.m. - Per the Incident Commander, an aggressive interior attack was initiated by firefighters to isolate the spread of the fire. The fire was contained to 75% of the attic space with severe water, smoke and collapse damage to the living area of the residence. The displaced occupants were able to arrange shelter and no assistance from Red Cross was needed. The loss was estimated to be $120,000 and the save was estimated to be $50,000. Update 8:54 p.m. - The fire was contained to the attic with heavy fire and smoke damage to the home. Four residents will be displaced - two adults and two children - and American Red Cross was notified for assistance. Update 8:47 p.m. - The fire was contained at approximately 8:33 p.m. CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters responded to a residential structure fire. First arriving engine company reported smoke showing from a single story, single family dwelling. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
