Current Situation: Update 1:05 p.m.: Per the Incident Commander, firefighters respondeded to a fire in the wall of the auto shop at Temecula Valley High School. After the fire was contained, the cause of the fire was determined to be from hot carbon particles from a vehicle backfire into the exhaust system. The loss was estimated at approximately $10,000 with an estimated save of $4,000,000. Approximately 500 students were evacuated prior to firefighter arrival. There were no injuries to students or firefighters. Update 10:33 a.m.: Fire contained. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a fire on the roof a building at Temecula Valley High School. Evacuations were in progress prior to fire department arrival. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
