Subject: Training Fire in Coachella
Full Text:

On June 11 and 12, 2005, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Riverside County Fire Department firefighters will be conducting a live fire training exercise in the City of Coachella. The training will occur in a condemned single-story house located at 321 Seventh Street in Coachella. The fire training class will require closure of Seventh Street, between Palm and Pendleton, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on both days.

During the class, several fires will be set within the buildings and firefighters will receive instruction on the latest techniques in fire suppression. At the end of the second day, the structure will be completely burned. In addition to providing valuable training to firefighters and paramedics from throughout the Coachella Valley, the training burn will assist the Desert Alliance for Community Development in its effort to improve the community.

For information or questions, contact the Coachella Fire Station at Fire Station 79 located at 1377 Sixth Street, or call at (760) 398-8895.
